I knew I hadn't seen Monsieur Stinkerbutt in some time. Then I thought to myself ... did I leave the current quilt-in-progress out?

Yep. As usual, the two issues were related.

It's a simple, sweet quilt. I love that I had almost every fabric needed already on-hand. The backing fabric has arrived, so as soon as I tidy off my table, pinning and quilting shall begin.

I really need to do a writeup on this quilt, but ... I don't want to until I can say who it's for. :)

The tedious details no one ever tells you about -- to keep the seam allowances from shadowing through the white fabric, I needed to press them toward the darker fabrics. Here's the before shot.

A last-minute purchase of blue thread for the bobbin was absolutely the right choice. The quilting disappears into the fabric, which is exactly what I wanted. You can see the lines of the echo quilting in the dark blue areas.

All done. English paper pieced hexagons, worked on in many states. Added in the end pieces after I got home. The backing is a repurposed Doctor Who duvet, and the fabric is a Spoonflower fabric based on the scarf from Tom Baker's incarnation of Doctor Who.

The pieces are the unusually-shaped pentagons found in Liesel Niesner's book, only available in German.

We often refer to this game as "Hide The Nose." He's doing a poor job here.

He's been awfully attached to this one. Unsure why.
